9 Nov 2022 CT Scan, 11 Nov 2022 MRI

Shortly after the endoscopy, I was informed to go for a CT Scan on 9 Nov 2022.

Then on 11 Nov 2022, I had to do a MRI Scan as well.

7 Nov 2022 Endoscopy Day

The night before the endoscopy, I had to clear my bowels by drinking 2 litres of Fortrans in 2 hours. It was the most horrible drink. A bit like salt water. Nearly vomited after drinking it.

Then came the fasting etc. 

My appointment on 7 Nov 2022 was at 3.30pm. With the fasting and clearing of bowels,  it was a torture. 

Since it was a day surgery, I was discharged at about 7pm that evening. Amelia couldn't stay with me as she has to fetch Adriel from childcare. Amelia is my wife. Adriel is my 6 year old boy.

We managed to contact my Manulife manager Lionel to fetch me instead. Thanks Lionel!

This endoscopy was the beginning of things to come. I was informed when i woke up that there was a mass (lump) at the rectum area. The hospital would update me later. I had a bad feeling about it.

17 Oct 2022 - The first meeting with SGH Prof Prof Tang Choong Leong

The polyclinic referral was taking more longer as expected. So I chose my own doctor from Great Eastern Singapore's panel of doctor since my integrated shield plan is with Great Eastern.

I managed to get my first appointment with him on 17 Oct 2022. 

He was affable and arranged for me to have an endoscopy on 7 Nov 2022.

Aug - Sep 2022 In the beginning

My name is Liang Seng and I'm 46 this year (2022). I have a beautiful wife Amelia and an adorable 6 year old boy Adriel. 

I worked as a Financial Advisor for the last 12 years. All along, I have told clients the importance of protection insurance. Never did I realised that I would need to make such a claim one day.

It all started with a shitty situation. 

I noticed that my bowel movements were increasing in frequency. There were also traces of blood in the toilet bowl. The bowels were also watery.

I was concerned. Right after my Perth holiday in mid Sep 2022, I scheduled an appointment with the Hougang Polyclinic on 23 Sep 2022.

The doctor referred me to do an endoscopy just to have a through check.
